| **** Auberge, St. Alexis des Monts |
|
|
Less than two hours from Montreal, two and a half hours from Québec City, you'll find the Auberge nestled against a lake. The Auberge consists of twenty-five inviting rooms, 16 country cottages with 4 or 5 rooms and 12 comfortable condos with 2 or 5 rooms.
The ground floor of the Auberge houses a fabulous dining room recently refurbished, with a capacity of two hundred guests, overlooking a spectacular view of the lake. Off the dining room is a pavilion with room for fifty guests as well as several smaller rooms for more intimate groups. And two fireplaces in the dining room lend an even cheerier atmosphere. We also offer a spacious lounge and bar on the same floor.
The Auberge and it's outdoor activities will please everyone. Surrounded by copper palm trees, the indoor semi-Olympic pool sports a children's wading pool. The water is continuously recycled and we treat it with bromine instead of the more environmentally harmful chlorine. Winter or summer, the view of the lake from inside the Aquatic Centre is breathtaking: one simply cannot feel any closer to nature. What's more, you can enjoy a cocktail while relaxing in a deck-chair in the sun and admiring the site's beauty. It's a short walk from the pool to the jacuzzi, the steam room, and the sauna. Feel like breaking a sweat? Visit the fitness centre furnished with the latest workout equipment. Afterwards, pamper yourself with a Swedish massage from one of our certified massage therapists.
Without a doubt, one of the main activities on the lake is fishing. Rainbow, brook, and lake trout share the water with small mouth bass and Arctic char, while brook trout and Arctic char inhabit the fourteen other lakes in the region, all easily accessible by automobile. All fishing techniques are practised here. The 150,000 trout released each year help make the region one of Québec's premier fishing destinations.
Venture into the heart of the woods and become one with nature. Let your spirit guide you on your feet or mountain bike as you take the path less travelled from one lake to the next. How better for newcomers from the city to lower stress than to glide across the lake in a canoe? You can also take one of our pontoon boats holding up to 20 passengers. The beach can be reached either by boat or by car and is the perfect place to drowse in the shade or work on your tan. And finally, for those who just can't part with their clubs, an 18-hole course is just 25 km away in Saint-Didace.
