 **** Auberge, Pointe-du-Lac

The deluxe auberge is located in Pointe-du-Lac, halfway between Montreal and Quebec City, on the North shore of the St. Lawrence River. Since its opening in 1988, the auberge has been attributed the four-star rating by Hébergement-Québec. It has also received many awards of excellence for its hospitality. The beautiful inn (which looks more like a manor) has 30 rooms, overlooking the river and gives our guests an amazing view of a breathtaking landscape. Recently all the rooms were completely renovated and redecorated in different styles. With your comfort in mind, all our rooms are equipped with: Queen or King size beds, a quiet electric air-conditioning unit, television, phone, hair dryer, coffee maker, clock radio,a variety of personal care items. Most of the rooms feature a whirlpool bath and bathrobe.

Come relax under a parasol on our terrace while sipping your favourite beverage, watching the ships sail by on the river. Dive in our outdoor pool to cool off and then, back in your deck-chair, let the sun caress your skin. Doze off for a while and savour the greetings of the river and lake when you wake. For those who want to stay in shape or keep their game up, we offer tennis courts. For your hiking, cycling, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing needs, the inn offers you the nearby old Mill, a historic site dating back to 1656, and the seigniorial forest of Pointe-du-Lac. Discover a jewel from the past, a 300-year-old forest now owned by the inn, where you can walk beautiful paths and marked trails. We also offer a sauna and massage service. We have two massage rooms and two highly capable professional massotherapists specialising in Swedish massages. For the avid or occasional surfer, the drawing room sports a free electronic café with high-speed Internet access.

The inn's cuisine is both modern and regional, typically Quebec but spiced with French inspiration. All our desserts are home-made. Our pastry chef was honoured as the pastry chef of the year in 2001 for the Mauricie region. Our fresh pan-roasted duck foie gras, served with a port sauce, is a favourite, and our praline maple delight is highly popular among our clientele. Offering something for every taste and budget, our wine list is interesting and varied, from local produce to New World fare. Most of our wines are privately imported and can't be found at the SAQ. Our dinning room staff knows just how to make you comfortable and take care of you for a wonderful evening where you'll enjoy a truly remarkable meal.
